Esther Lee Brabble

   Esther Lee Williams Brabble, 93, formerly of Soundside Road, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

   Mrs. Brabble was born in Edgecombe County on July 24, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Percy Lee and Zannie Lucas Williams.  A homemaker, she had formerly worked as an operator with Bell Telephone & Telegraph, and was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd “Mike” Williams, K.W. Williams, and Guy P. Williams.

   Surviving are her husband of over 69 years, John Ralph Brabble; a daughter, Sarah Ellen Sturcke and husband Kenneth of Mohawk, NY; a son, Donald R. Brabble and wife Sally of Bow, NH; three sisters, Edna Trapp and Alice Martin, both of Edenton, and Anna Hare of Tyner; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks.  A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family immediately following the chapel service.
