Ralph Milford VanPelt, Jr.

   Ralph Milford VanPelt, Jr., 70, of 116 Old Rail Bed, Gates, NC, died Moday, December 12, 2016 in Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

   Mr. VanPelt was born in Sullivan County, NY on January 9, 1946, and was the son of the late Ralph Milford, Sr. and Goldie Davis VanPelt. A retired auto mechanic, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosella Wilson, and by a brother, Donald Zeininger.

   Surviving are his longtime companion, Crystal Finkle of Gates; two sons, Ralph M VanPelt, III of Neversink, NY and Lonnie Finkle and wife Rhonda of Hampstead, NC; three daughters, Peggy Galligan and husband Ed of Bethel, NY, Joyce Hunt and husband Chris of Norwich, NY, and Katie Millen and husband Frank of Waymart, PA; two sisters, Rosemary Wilson and Carol Peylas, both of New York; two brothers, Richard Zeininger of Florida and Bruch VanPelt of New York; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

   At his request, no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
