Wayne Evans

   George Wayne Evans, 61, of 102 Tip Toe Road, Edenton, NC, died Monday, December 19, 2016 in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

   Mr. Evans was born in Chowan County on October 13, 1955, and was the son of the late George Wayland Evans and Mabel Boyce Evans Lane, and the step-son of the late Thomas Earl Lane. A self-employed contractor and co-owner of Evans’ Services, he was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

   Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Donna Harrell Evans; his son, Matthew C. Evans and wife Megan, and two granddaughters, Madison and Mallory, all of Edenton. Also surviving are his brother, Eugene Evans of Edenton; and two sisters, Amy Swanson of Apex and Jamie Hunt of Edenton.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church and will be conducted by his pastor, The Reverend Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence.
