Marvin Dan De Witte, 69, of 303 Country Club Drive, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Mr. De Witte was born in Bergen County, NJ on April 13, 1947, and was the son of Grace Balkema De Witte of Isle of Palms, SC and the late Marinus De Witte. Retired from the Textile industry, he was a member of both the American Association of Textiles Chemists and Colorists and Edenton United Methodist Church. He was a Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 47 years, Lois Van Wieren De Witte; two daughters, Stacy De Witte of Archdale and Amy De Witte of Edenton; a son, Joseph De Witte and wife Amy of Trussville, AL; a sister, Sandra Ferencz of Isle of Palms; and five grandchildren, Destinee, Elijah, Cora, Bear, and Gavin.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Edenton United Methodist Church by his pastor, The Rev. Chris Aydlett. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service.
Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Edenton United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Edenton, NC 27932 or to the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge, 930 A Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
