Frances Swain Eason

   Frances Ruth Swain Eason, 73, of 118 Morris Circle, Edenton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

 

   Mrs. Eason was born in Chowan County on April 16, 1943, and was the daughter of the late George Swain and Grace Davenport Hendrix. A retired inspector from George C. Moore Corp. after 36 years of employment, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church, and was known locally as “The Strawberry Lady” for her many years of growing the crop in both Chowan and Gates Counties.

 

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eason; and by her brothers, George Swain and Robbie Hendrix.

 

   Surviving are her daughter, Paula Rinehart and husband Worth; and her son, Michael McKinley Dunlow, all of Edenton; her brother, Bruce Hendrix of Tyner; two granddaughters, Sarah Nixon and husband Allen, and Erin Brabble and husband Dale; and five great-grandchildren, Maci Kate and Parker Nixon, Hayden Phillips, and Blake and Shelby Brabble.

 

   Friends may join the family Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, and all other times at Paula and Worth’s home, 115 Pembroke Circle, both in Edenton.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
