Deborah White Copeland

   Deborah White Copeland, 94, of 1607 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, in her home.

   Mrs. Copeland was born in the Belvidere community of Perquimans County on September 24, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Hugh and Lillie Mae Raiford White. A homemaker, she was a faithful member of Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church in Tyner.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estes Octavious Copeland, and by her sister, Catherine Ball.

   She is survived by her children, Hugh Raiford Copeland and husband Jerry Duck of Norfolk, VA, Marcia Carpenter and husband Walt of St. Louis, MO, and Peggy Hedrick and husband Randy of Raleigh; a niece, Kay Acurio of Elizabeth City; and by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements.

   In keeping with her love of bright colors, the family welcomes and encourages those attending to wear colorful clothing. Immediately following the graveside rites, everyone is invited to join the family for a luncheon in The Family Life Center of the church.
