Doris Ann Waff Bunch, 91, of Mark Drive, Edenton, NC and formerly of the Rocky Hock community, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Edenton Primetime.
Mrs. Bunch was born on October 18, 1925, in Chowan County, and was the daughter of the late John Edward and Hettie Layton Waff. A retired bookkeeper with both Albemarle Tire Company and Colonial Furniture Company, she also operated her own furniture upholstery business for many years and was a faithful member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Melvin Bunch; her sisters, Mildred Bunch and Juanita Spruill; and by her brothers, Edward, John, Maurice, Edsel, and Alvin Waff.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Bunch Winborne and husband Bobby of Edenton; two sisters, Hettie Wallace of Greenville and Kathleen Byrum of Tyner; two grandchildren, Rob Winborne and wife Donna, and Angie Winborne Walston and husband Scott; and five great-grandchildren, Hutch, Matthew, and Johnny Winborne, and Zach and Anna Scott Walston.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church and will be officiated by Dr. James Horton and the Rev. Ron Parr. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the Family Life Center of the church immediately following the church service, and a private burial will be held in Beaver Hill Cemetery. At all other times friends may join the family at Brenda and Bobby’s home, 3506 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton.
