Fay Joyner White, 75, of 342 Woodland Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mrs. White was born in Nash County on February 13, 1942, and was the daughter of the late William Oscar, Sr. and Ruby Lee Wilson Joyner. The retired owner and operator of White’s Country Store in the Cape Colony community, she and her husband worked together there for 28 years. She was a member of Cape Colony Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Edward White, a sister, Joanne Parsons, and by a brother, Ronnie Joyner.
Surviving are her son, Joe Carawan, Sr. and wife Sharon of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters, Cheryl Hernick and husband Jim of St. Charles, MI and Sherri Cooper and husband Aaron of Chesapeake; a sister, Dale Williams of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Butch Joyner of Edenton and Tony Joyner of Gates; six grandchildren, Julie Bell, Brittney Carawan, Joey Carawan, Jr., Jacob Harney, Timmy White, and Kadden Cooper; six great-grandchildren, Alisa, Alayna, Austin, Clarisa, Chloe, and Joseph, III; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Cape Colony Church of Christ and will be officiated by her pastor, The Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the residence.
