Mike Perry

   James Michael “Mike” Perry, 59, of 102 Russell Lane, Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, March 6, 2017, in his home.

   Mr. Perry was born in Martin County on November 30, 1957, and was the son of Elvin “Deanie” Modlin Perry of Eure, and the late James Bertell “Jimmy” Perry. A self-employed carpenter, he was raised in the fellowship of Cool Spring Baptist Church in the Eure community of Gates County.

   In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marcia Murphy Perry; a daughter, Lisa Renee Moore and husband Jay of Hertford; a sister, Laura Perry of Murrells Inlet, SC; four grandchildren, Lance, Michael, Brandon, and Tiffany; and two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Judith.

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church and will be officiated by The Rev. Joe McKnight. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
