Eula Chaulk Wood

   Eula Elizabeth Chaulk Wood, 84, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, Elizabeth City.

   Mrs. Wood was born in Perquimans County on December 22, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Stephen Decatur and Annie Belle Smith Chaulk. Retired from the former Elizabeth City Hosiery Mill, in recent years she had worked as a site attendant with the Newland Convenience/Recycling Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Eugene Wood, and by a brother, Ronald Chaulk.

   Surviving are her daughter, Denise Wood and husband Mace Quidley of Elizabeth City; and two sisters, June Chaulk Layden of Belvidere and Mary Belle Ange of Corapeake.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. A private burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday.
