Linda Dale Rinehart Green, 57, of 2004 Norfolk Street, Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Linda was born in Chowan County on June 11, 1959, and was the daughter of Benny Dale Rinehart, Sr. and Barbara Spencer Rinehart of Edenton. A manager with H & R Block Tax Service, she was a graduate of Old Dominion University and was a member of Edenton Baptist Church. Gifted in crafts, she was known locally for her work in designing and building birdhouses made of seeds and edible by the birds. Her artistic abilities were also exhibited in her works of jewelry. Her father said, “If she saw it, and if she liked it, she could build it.”
Surviving in addition to her parents are her son, Naythen Blake Rinehart of Kill Devil Hills; her sister, Elizabeth Rinehart Evans and husband Jasper; and her brothers, Worth Rinehart and wife Paula, and Ben Rinehart and wife Sonya, all of Edenton.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in Colington United Methodist Church, 1949 Colington Road in Kill Devil Hills.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the African Wildlife Foundation, 1400 16th Street NW, Suite 120, Washington, DC 20036, and directed for use in the conservation of elephants, or to the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, 374 Airport Road, Manteo, NC 27954.
