Eva Wrae Landing

   Eva Wrae Winslow Landing, 90, of 729 Whedbee Drive, Hertford, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in her home where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Landing was born in Perquimans County on September 5, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Robert and Nora Layden Winslow. The retired bookkeeper of Landing Supply Company, she had worked as a receptionist at the Newbold-White House, and was a member of the Hertford United Methodist Church and its Wesley Circle, the Perquimans County Senior Center, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Eugene Landing, Sr.; by sons, infant Michael Landing, and Emmett Eugene Landing, Jr.; by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hendricks and Norma Bunch; by brothers, Claude, Oliver, George, Gordon, and Wilford "Bill" Winslow, and by two infant brothers.

   Surviving are her daughter, Patti L. Curles and husband Lynn of Hertford; two grandchildren, Amber Dawn Curles and Weston Eugene Curles, both of Apex; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Hertford United Methodist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Jane Leachford. A private burial will follow on the family plot in Cedarwood Cemetery.  Friends may join the family in the church social hall immediately following the church service, or all other times at her residence.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Perquimans County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 191, or the Hertford Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 32, both in Hertford, NC 27944.
