Edward Michael Fuehrer

   Edward Michael Fuehrer, 76, of 513 Sam Allen Road, Roper, NC passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 in his home where he was surrounded by his loving family.

   Mr. Fuehrer was born in Queens, NY on August 7, 1940, and was the son of the late Charles and Marion Piper Fuehrer and raised by Irene and Geraldine Joyce.   A longtime resident of Long Island, NY, he retired as a biomedical technician from St. Francis Hospital and later moved to Roper.  A member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenton, he had also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels nutrition program.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Durkan.

   Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Diane Simpson Fuehrer; a daughter, Kristin Lasek and husband Stefan of St. James, NY; a son, Michael Fuehrer and wife Tess James of Brooklyn, NY; and a sister, Barbara Jobin of Mr. Vernon, NY.

   A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church.  Friends may join the family Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton.
