Arlyn Ray Dail, 70, of 1337 Windsor Ridge Drive, Rock Hill, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, where he was surrounded by his family.
Mr. Dail was born in Chowan County on February 18, 1947, and was the son of the late John Raymond and Elizabeth Chappell Dail. A retired supervisor with the former Paxar Corp., he was a member of Newkirk Baptist Church. Before moving to Rock Hill many years ago, he was a member of the Belvidere-Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., and had retired as a Sergeant after serving for 23 years with the North Carolina National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Allen Dail.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 36 years, Paula Miller Dail; four children, Ann Dail Hunter and husband Frank, and John Paul Dail and wife Kelli, all of Rock Hill, and Kelley Dail Cale and husband Johnny, and Curtis Arlyn Dail and wife Lori, all of Windsor, NC; and six grandchildren, Colton, Nathan, Caroline, Adelyn, Lindley, and Kelton.
Friends may join the family Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebeneezer Road in Rock Hill. Following the visitation, Mr. Dail will be moved to Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, NC, where a visitation will be Saturday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., and where funeral services will be held in their chapel on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Charles Tanner. Burial with military honors provided by the NC National Guard will follow in Happy Home Church Cemetery, Tyner.
