Norma Jernigan Bulls

   Norma Jernigan Bulls, 91, of Court Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, in Cross Creek Health & Rehabilitation, Swan Quarter.

   Mrs. Bulls was born in Chowan County on January 12, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Odell Ellis Jernigan. Retired from Seabrook Blanching Corporation after 27 years of employment, she was a member of Albemarle Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Bulls; a daughter, Barbara Bulls Haislip; brothers, Eugene and Forrest Jernigan; daughters-in-law, Shirley and Margaret Bulls; and by a son-in-law, James Haislip.

   Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis B. Johnson and husband Douglas of Shawboro; two sons, Robert E. Bulls of Suffolk, VA and Tom L. Bulls of Edenton; three sisters, Garnett Alexander of Hampton, VA, Evelyn McClenney of Washington, NC, and Janet Bulls of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, John Johnson, Kristy Gray, Stephanie Bourget (Chris), Robert Bulls, Jr., Jamie Everett (Sandy), Tanya Brill (Adam), and D.J. Haislip (Sascha); 14 great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Tanner, Kendra, Jesse, Tarryn, and Savannah Johnson, Seirra Woolard, Jeremiah and Eli Everett, Hose`, Marcus, and Adrianna Quiro, and Ashley and Allison Ellis; and a great-great-grandchild, Jacob Shachno.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her former pastor, The Rev. Greg Brinson. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service.
