Deborah Redmon Blackburn

   Deborah Jean Redmon Blackburn, 58, of 89 Williams Lane, Gates, NC, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA.

 

   Mrs. Blackburn was born in Norfolk, VA on June 11, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Glenn Carroll, Sr. and Belva Jean Murphy Redmon. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church.

 

   Surviving are her husband of nearly 35 years, Ronald Blackburn; a daughter, Jammie Williams and husband Donnie of Gates; a son, Richard Tomlin, II of Orlando, FL; a sister, Rebecca Tatem and husband Marshall of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Glenn Redmon, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Chestertown, NY and Jeffery Redmon and wife Theresa of Eure; and seven grandchildren, Annabel, Travis, Parren, Richy, Alex, Cassie, and Kyra.

 

   A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Reynoldson Baptist Church, and will be officiated by her pastor, The Rev. Cody Brinkley. Friends may join the family in the church social hall immediately following the service. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prayer Group of Reynoldson Baptist Church, PO Box 308, Gates, NC 27937.
