Herbert Leslie Ceney

   Herbert Leslie Ceney, 71, of Taylor Mill Road, Eure, NC, died Monday, June 26, 2017 in his home.

   Mr. Ceney was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 31, 1946, and was the son of the late Herbert Crawford and Dorothy Cummins Ceney.  A veteran, he retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the US Coast Guard following 20 years of service. 

   Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Maryellen Delach Ceney; four daughters, Heather Hedgepeth and husband Timmy, Rachel Ceney, Rebecca Stell and husband Steven, and Sarah Eure and husband Nathan; two sons, Herbert Joshua Ceney and Herbert Aaron Ceney; a sister, Dottie Maslonek; and three granddaughters, Hailey, Harriett, and McKinsley.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.  Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   Flowers are welcomed and will be received at the residence, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
