Jobina Wilson Godfrey

   Jobinã Wilson "Jo" Godfrey, 52, of 160 Hog Neck Road, Hertford, NC passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in her home.

   Mrs. Godfrey was born in Pasquotank County on September 21, 1964, and was the daughter of Joyce Benton Wilson of Elizabeth City and the late John Fleetwood Wilson. Employed for many years in administrative services with various local companies, she was a Baptist by faith.

   In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband of nearly 32 years, Abe L. Godfrey; two sons, Travis B. Jordan of Vanceboro and Abe L. "A.L." Godfrey, Jr. of Hertford; a sister, Justina W. Pike and husband Mike of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren, Lainee Jordan, Brantley Godfrey, and Lindsey and Jarred Arthur; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be officiated by Pastor Lee Johnson and Dr. Farren Roper. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Friday, and all other times at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
