Ann Hewitt Harris

   Lois Ann Hewitt Harris, 76, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the home of her daughter in Corapeake, NC.

   Mrs. Harris was born in Pasquotank County on March 26, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Orville Earl and Etta Evelyn Sawyer Hewitt. A retired Accountant with the City of Newport News, after moving to Gates County she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in home health care. She was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Scott Harris, in 2014 after nearly 54 years of marriage.

   Surviving are her children, Carenne H. McPherson and husband Bobby, Kimberly H. Borum and husband Bennie, Scott B. Harris and wife Jill, and T. Earl Harris and wife Michelle; a sister, Jean Atkinson; a sister-in-law, Nell Hassell; 12 grandchildren with another due to be born at Thanksgiving; and a great-grandchild.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Beulah Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Tom Hall. The burial will be in the family cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at Carenne and Bobby’s Home, 234 Brinkley Road, Corapeake.
