Larry Stallings

   Joseph Larry Stallings, 70, of 779 Turnpike Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at his home.

   Mr. Stallings was born in Perquimans County on April 8, 1947, and was the son of the late Joseph Herbert "J. H." and Martha Iris Winslow Stallings. A retired Traffic Control Engineer with Siemens I.T.S. following more than 30 years employment, he had a heart for farming having worked in that profession for his entire life. An active member of Bagley Swamp Wesleyan Church where he had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years, he also enjoyed membership with Gideons International. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Gwen Stallings.

   Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Ann Moore Stallings; two daughters, Wendy S. Lewis and husband Pastor Jim Lewis of Kill Devil Hills and Kristie S. Harris and husband Kevin Harris of Appomattox, VA; and seven grandchildren, Jay, Cody, Judah, Jordan, and Gunnar Lewis, and Kara and Kendall Harris.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Bagley Swamp Wesleyan Church, and will be officiated by his pastor, The Rev. James Spaugh, and by his son-in-law, Pastor Jim Lewis. Burial will follow in Up River Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.
