Elvie Harris McCloud

   Elvie Earline Harris McCloud, 89, of Upton Road, Camden, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.

   Mrs. McCloud was born in Camden County on November 14, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Korney D. and Elizabeth Berry Harris. A retired seamstress, she was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Allen McCloud, a son-in-law, Tom Sudderth, and by a sister, Sophia Garraway.

   Surviving are her three daughters, Peggy Sharber of Camden, Gwen Waterfield of Elizabeth City, and Kay Sudderth of Montezuma; two sons, John McCloud of Elizabeth City and Billy McCloud and wife Brenda of Camden; seven grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

   Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Highland Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City, and will be officiated by Dr. Farren Roper. Friends may join the family at Peggy's home, 109 Japonica Drive, Camden.
