Frank Cassell, Jr.

   Frank Cassell, Jr., 87, formerly of Oakridge Drive, Edenton, NC, died Monday, August 7, 2017 in Gates House, Gatesville.

   Mr. Cassell was born in Paterson, NJ on June 14, 1930, and was the son of the late Frank, Sr. and Elizabeth Francis Cassell.  Retired from the US Postal Service, he was a member of the Church of the Redeemer in Camden, and more recently had attended Evangelical Methodist Church in Elizabeth City.  A veteran, he had served in the Army during the Korean War.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Longee Cassell; a daughter-in-law, Sheri Cassell; two sisters, Ida Cassell Andolina and Elizabeth Cassell Post; a half sister, Mary Hayes; and by a half brother, William Hayes.

   Surviving are his two daughters, Donna Cassell Eckrich and husband Les of Lincoln Park, NJ and Kathleen Cassell Congdon and husband Steav of Hertford; two sons, Todd Cassell of Warrington, PA and Scott Cassell and wife Rhonda of Glenwood, NJ; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and twin great-grandchildren due to be born in November.

   Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Evangelical Methodist Church, and will be officiated by Pastor Sean Scribner and Father Craig Stephans.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
