James Ernest Turner

   Born in Newport News, VA on December 7, 1963, he was the son of the late James Edward “Jimmy” and Jean Tappan Turner. Before moving to Cape Coral, he was a resident of the Gates community. A loving husband, father, and friend, he was a retired tradesman, and was a Baptist by faith.
 

   Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Colleen K. Turner; two sons, Robert James Turner of Gates, NC and Jon Thomas Turner of Cape Coral; two brothers, William Parkerson of Severn, VA and Don Parkerson of Newport News, VA; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

   Friends may join the family Friday, August 25, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville. 

   In recognition of James’ decision of being a donor and giving the gift of life to others, the family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Carolina Donor Services, 3621 Lyckan Parkway, Durham, NC 27707, or online at www.carolinadonorservices.org.
