Stacey Lynn Copeland Priest, 41, of 126-C Sign Pine Road, Tyner, NC, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, in her home where she was surrounded by her family.
Stacey was born in Chowan County on April 6, 1976, and was the daughter of Durwood and Rhonda Ammann Copeland of Tyner. Formerly employed with Albemarle Electric Membership Corp., the NC Dept. of Corrections, and as a Veterinarian’s Assistant at Chowan Animal Hospital with Drs. Jones, Howell, and Ford, she was a loving daughter, wife, and mother, and attended Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Stacey was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Hazel Ammann, and by her paternal grandparents, Merrill and Kines Copeland.
Surviving with her parents, are her husband, Tommy Gene Priest, Jr.; her children, Morgan Eliza Lane, Micala Bree Lane, and Alden Michael Paul Lane, all of Tyner; her sister, Valerie Copeland Byrum and husband Curtis of Tyner; her brother, Paul Copeland and wife Ashley of Merry Hill; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Revs. Bernie Hurdle and Walter Byrum. Burial will follow in the family cemetery at the home. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Sabrina Elks and the other staff of Albemarle Home Care and Hospice for the care and comfort they provided Stacey, and request that memorial contributions be made to that organization as they continue to serve others. Those contributions may be mailed to P.O. Box 189, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
