Julian Harrell

   Robert Julian Harrell, 84, of 662 Whitehat Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 in his home.

   Mr. Harrell was born in Perquimans County on April 12, 1933, and was the son of the late Robert Lee and Nellie Sawyer Harrell.  Retired as an Inventory Management Specialist from the US Coast Guard Aircraft Repair and Supply Center in Elizabeth City following 36 years of employment, he was a faithful member of Berea Church of Christ.  He was a Navy veteran.

   Surviving are his wife of nearly 62 years, Carolyn Eure Harrell; a daughter, Rose Jacot (Kevin); a son, Robbie Harrell (Susie); all of Hertford; three sisters, Lillian Lane and Doris Harrell, both of Tyner; and Nellie Ruth Matthews of Hertford; three grandchildren, Brittany Colasuonno (Matt), and Robert and Andrew Jacot (Sarah); and a great-granddaughter, Madison Colasuonno.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Berea Church of Christ, and will be officiated by Ministers Eddie Clark and Phillip Alligood.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may join the family Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and other times at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berea Church of Christ, 1664 New Hope Road, Hertford, NC 27944.
