Kathleen Koch Ludwigson

   Kathleen Carr Koch Ludwigson, of Hertford, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Edenton.

   Born on October 6, 1942 in Newark, NJ, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Otto Charles and Gertrude Brennan Koch and grew up in Montclair, NJ. She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ in 1964 and married Milton Ludwigson in 1965. The couple settled in Annandale, NJ, where Kathleen devoted her time to raising their three children, Elizabeth, Susan and John, and also made a career of real estate.

   In 2008, Kathleen and Milton retired to Hertford, where she was an active member of the Osprey Yacht Club and a volunteer at the Newbold-White House and Perquimans County Restoration Association.

   Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Milton; children, Elizabeth (Barry Falvo) of Eagleville, PA, Susan (John Wyatt) of Glen Ridge, NJ and John (Jennifer Nannen) of Lawrenceville, NJ; and grandchildren, Daniel and Johnathan Falvo and Benjamin, Eloise and Karin Wyatt. Kathleen's loving siblings are Elaine Pierson of Columbia, SC, Gertrude Koch of Secaucus, NJ, Charlene Packham of Newport, RI, Margaret Koch of Newport, RI and Charles Koch of La Jolla, CA.

   Services will be held Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, with a reception to follow in Montero's Restaurant in Elizabeth City. A memorial service will be celebrated in New Jersey in October 2017.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
