Peter Edwin Columbus

   Peter Edwin Columbus, 80, of Trestles Court, Camden, NC, and formerly of Hertford, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Sentara Nursing Center, Barco.

   Mr. Columbus was born in Freeport, NY on February 14, 1937, and was the son of the late Thomas John and Marguerite Van Der Zee Columbus. Retired as a program analyst from Eaton Corporation, he was a member of both Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and the Oldsmobile Club, and was an avid fisherman. He was an Army veteran.

   Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Kathryn Attwood Columbus; a daughter, Lisan Dustevich and husband Richard of Pittsburgh, PA; and a grandson, Chase Dustevich.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, and will be officiated by The Rev. Robert Beauchamp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in the Parish Hall immediately following the service.
