Lucy Carter Kors

   Lucy Riddick Carter Kors, 70, of 502 Court Street, Gatesville, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

   Mrs. Kors was born in Wake County, NC, on May 26, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Wince and Clarine Gatling Carter. Formerly employed with Eastern Virginia Medical School, she was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Elton Lee Winslow, Jr.

   Surviving are her daughter, Robi Winslow Mitchell and husband Johnny of Gates; her daughter-in-law, Rene` Rother Winslow of Newport News, VA; her half-sister, Penelope Walker of Gatesville; and four grandchildren, John Hunter Mitchell, Elise Rene` Winslow, Elton Lee Winslow, III, and Elena Margaret Winslow.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and will be conducted by The Reverend Jeff Douglas. Friends may join the family in Parish Hall immediately following the church service.
