Betty Campbell Cooper

   Betty Lou Campbell Cooper, 77, of 745 Creek Road, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in her home.

 

    Ms. Cooper was born in Edgecombe County on September 9, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Alton Paige Campbell and Mildred Lou Morris Harris. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Leon Harris, her step-mother, Estelle Campbell, and by a brother-in-law, Larry Smith.

 

   Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Twiddy of Elizabeth City; a son, Richard Hogarth of Manson; a sister, Sarah Smith of Pinetops; two grandchildren, Teri Twiddy Lloyd of Elizabeth City and Thomas Twiddy, Jr. of Helena, MT; five great-grandchildren, Ezura, Gage, Kelcie, Skyla, and Tyler; and two great-great-grandsons, T.J. and Ardyn, all who affectionately knew her as "Meme"; and several nieces, a nephew, and extended family members and friends.

 

   A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City.

 

   The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Barbara Harrell for all the support and love expressed to them during their time of need.
