William Floyd James

   William Floyd James, 76, of 581 Paige Riddick Road, Gates, NC, died Saturday, October 14, 2017 in his home.

   Mr. James was born in Rock Hill, SC on May 29, 1941, and was the son of the late William and Mattie Jackson James.  A retired ship fitter, he was an Korean veteran having served during the Vietnam War. 

   Surviving are his wife, Linda Louise Maxwell James; four daughters, Jeannette Skaggs of Lookout, WV, Sharon Kessler of Fayetteville, WV, Christine Withrow of Granite Falls, and Natasha Bragg of Gates; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.  Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
