Rebecca Dale White

   Rebecca Jane “Becky” Dale White, 90, of 135 Ridge Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, in PruittHealth of Raleigh.

   Mrs. White was born in Perquimans County on June 8, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Walter Jesse and Evie Baker Dale. Retired after many years with the Perquimans County Public School System, she had worked in the secretarial/bookkeeping department of both the schools and the Superintendent’s Office, before spending the latter part of her career as the secretary to the principal at Perquimans County High School. A member of Bethany United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, and the Belvidere-Whiteston Extension Club, she also had been active in years past with the Perquimans County Democratic Committee.

   Surviving are her children, Millie White of Raleigh, and Richard White and wife Joy of New Bern; a grandson, Ryan White of Kill Devil Hills; and other extended family members and friends.

   A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by her longtime friend, The Rev. William Byrum. A private graveside committal will be held on the family plot in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service on Thursday, and all other times at the residence.
