Jack Shepard Hardison, Sr.

   Jack Shepard Hardison, Sr., 78, of 212 Oak Hill Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.

   Mr. Hardison was born on April 10, 1939, and was the son of the late Willie Louis and Agnes Spruill Hardison. A retired Captain with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, he served the state for 31 years. He and his wife, the late Doris Lee Davenport Hardison, who preceded him in death in November 2015, were faithful members of Edenton Baptist Church.

   Surviving are his son, Jack S. Hardison, Jr. and wife Andrea, and their children, Zachary, Holly, and Hunter of Winterville; and his brother, Willie Louis Hardison, Jr. of Pine Level.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Honors by the Highway Patrol will be rendered in the chapel, and a private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to the service.

   The family asks that flowers be omitted, and contributions be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 South Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
