Henry Milton Copeland

   Henry Milton Copeland, 79, of 1196 Beech Springs Road, Tyner, NC, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Copeland was born in Perquimans County on July 29, 1938, and was the son of the late Alvin Glenwood and Mary Christine Ellis Copeland. A heavy equipment operator, he retired from Weyerhaeuser following more than 26 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters, Mary Alice Lamb and Mildred Byrum; and by two brothers, Clinton and Wilbur Copeland.

   Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Barbara Ann Cornelius Copeland; a daughter, Anita C. Blanchard and husband Tommy of Tyner; two sisters, Gladys Overton of Hertford and Alma White of Hobbsville; two brothers, Ray Copeland of Belvidere and Ervin Copeland of Hobbsville; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

   Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be officiated by The Rev. Hoyle T. "Kip" Vinson, Jr. Burial will follow in the Copeland Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at Anita and Tommy's home, 408 Happy Home Road, Tyner.
