Maggie Casper Monds

   Maggie Lee Casper Monds, 88, of Gatesville, NC, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017, in Gates House Assisted Living.

   Mrs. Monds was born in Chowan County on November 26, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Sally Mary Owens Casper. A homemaker, she was a member of Eure Christian Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Edward Monds; her sister, Evelyn Casper; her brother, Elwood Casper; and her son-in-law, F. Lon Davis.

   Surviving are four daughters, Mary Davis of Courtland, VA, Doris Marks and husband Tony of Oxford, Pauline Legg and husband Wilbur of Eure, and Joyce Hobbs and husband Al of Hobbsville; two sons, Edward Ray Monds and wife Maureen of Edenton and David W. Monds and wife Rita of Hobbsville; two brothers, Calvin “Peter Pan” Casper and wife Lorraine, and Vernon “Blue Eyes” Casper and wife Marian, and a sister-in-law, Faye Casper, all of Belvidere; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Eure Christian Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Wade Bennett and the Rev. Wayne Gardner. A private burial will follow in Warwick Baptist Church Cemetery, Hobbsville. Friends may join the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and other times at Pauline and Wilbur’s home, 1380 NC 137, Eure.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Eure Christian Church, 872 NC 137, Eure, NC 27935.
