Richard Tennyson Reid, II


   Richard Tennyson Reid, II, 58, of 123 Brayhall Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in his home.

   Mr. Reid was born in Hertford County on March 17, 1959, and was the son of the late Richard Tennyson Reid and Dorothy Ann Archer Reid Drew. A retired Deputy Sheriff with the Chesapeake, VA Sheriff’s Department, years earlier he had worked in HVAC with Joe Lee Company in Edenton. A veteran, he had served in the United States Air Force.

   Surviving are his wife, Charlene Marie Beegle Reid; a daughter, Lorie Leigh Lilly and husband Travis of Edenton; a son, Jerald Scott Seese and wife Jill of Havelock; two sisters, Lisa Mann of Virginia Beach and Angie Conlon of Belcamp, MD; his step-father, Dwight Drew of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren, Clay, Austin, Christopher, Colby, Avagail, Conner Paige, Autumn, Caleb, and Kaelyn; and one great-grandson, Porter.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, and will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Parr. Friends may join the family in the church immediately following the service on Saturday.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Reid Scholarship Foundation, in care of Moyock Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 403, Moyock, NC 27958.
