Josephine Edwards Truesdail

   Josephine Bernice Edwards Truesdail, 97, of 1011 US 158 West, Gates, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in her home.

   Mrs. Truesdail was born in Owego, New York on August 26, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Jack and Mabel Edwards. Retired from Endicott-Johnson Shoe Manufacturing, she was a Baptist by faith.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Conklin; and two daughters, Yolande T. “Lonnie” Short and Marilyn T. Bogart.

   Surviving are her longtime companion, Lawrence Smith; a daughter, Audrey Darrow of Gates; two sons, Galen Truesdail of Powell’s Point and Stanley Conklin of Indiana; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

   In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with arrangements.
