Clarine Whedbee Stallings

   Clarine Whedbee Stallings, 92, formerly of Acorn Hill Road in the Sandy Cross community of Gates County, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017, in Laurel Park Nursing Center, Stockbridge, GA.

   Mrs. Stallings was born in Perquimans County on September 27, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Ervin W. and Minnie Harrell Whedbee.  A retired seamstress with South 17 Garment Company where she worked for 23 years, she was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Stallings; her son, Billy Shean; a sister, Dorothy Perry Collins; her son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Stallings; and a grandson, James Robert Stallings.

   Surviving are her daughter, Brenda S. Stallings of McDonough, GA; and two sisters, Myrtle Copeland and Delsie Ward, both of Hertford.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jason Stallings, Daniel Stallings and wife Heather, Bill Shean, Amy Cahoon and husband Michael, and Nick Shean and wife Verna Jean; eleven great-grandchildren, Rachel Edenfield and husband Kameron, Sydney Peek and husband Kyle, Tyler and Sierra Stallings, Justin, Hunter, Hannah, LeAnn, and Clayton Shean, and Kelsey and Emily Cahoon; and three great-great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Jude, and Marilee Edenfield.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by Pastor Bill Thorn.  The burial will be private in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery, Sunbury.  Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service, and all other times at the home of her sister, Myrtle Copeland, 310 Holiday Island Road, Hertford.
