Nancy Leigh Stallings

   Nancy Leigh Stallings, 87, formerly of the Sandy Cross community of Gates County, NC, and in recent years a resident of Staunton, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017, in the Kings Daughters Community Health & Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.

   Miss Stallings was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on October 14, 1930, and was a daughter of the late Carlton Lee and Nannie Virginia Briggs Stallings. A homemaker, she was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, infant Stella May Stallings, Gladys Manning and Mary Lou Berry.

   Surviving are two nieces, Gail Dobbs and husband Donnie of Staunton, VA, and Sue Norris and husband John of Delaware, OH; two nephews, Russell Berry and wife Jean of Sacramento, CA, and Mike Manning of Pinnacle, NC; other extended family members, and many close friends and neighbors.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Gary Nistler. The burial will be next to her parents in the Eason Family Cemetery near the church. Friends may join the family in the church the hour prior to services on Saturday, and again in the church fellowship hall immediately following services.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Sandy Cross Baptist Church, in care of Barbara Jones, 498 Acorn Hill Road, Sunbury, NC 27979.

   The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Kings Daughters Health & Rehab for the love and care given to Nancy over the past few years.
