Laura Brewin Sawyer

   Laura Ainsley Brewin Sawyer, 47, of 108 N. Covent Garden Street, Hertford, NC,  passed away peacefully Saturday, November 25, 2017 in her home with her husband by her side.

    A native of Perquimans County, she was born August 26, 1970, and was the daughter of David Brewin of Cullowhee and the late Margaret Ainsley Brewin. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she was a talented artist, avid reader, loved music, was a fervent East Carolina University sports fan, and lover of anything Disney.

    Surviving are her husband of seven years, Mark Edward Sawyer, II; a daughter, Phoebe Sullivan of Durham; a son, Liam Sullivan of Raleigh; a step-daughter, Emily Sawyer of Raleigh; step-mother, Jeanett Cabanis-Brewin of Cullowhee; a sister, Alice Moncla and husband Sam, II of Elizabeth City; a step-sister, Hazel Conway of Asheville; a niece, Sophie Moncla; two nephews, Sam Moncla, III and Max Moncla; her mother-in-law, Glenda Sawyer; a sister-in-law, Ruthie Watson; and her canine companions, Charlie and Albus.

   A celebration of her life will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford.
