Marjorie Mathias Duck

   Marjorie Mathias Duck, 83, of 189 Rountree Lane, Gatesville, NC, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Accordius Health and Rehabilitation, Gatesville.

   Mrs. Duck was born in Gates County on May 27, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Wallace Lee and Ellie Enora Mathias. A homemaker, she was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Brinkley and Helen Moore, and by two brothers, Buddy and Willie Mathias.

   Surviving are her husband, William Duck; two daughters, Shirley Galey of Atlanta, GA and Brenda Englebardt of Woodland Park, CO; a son, Jesse Duck of Gatesville; a sister, Barbara Ann Newman of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Terri, and Sherry; and two great-granddaughters, Lilliana and Mariella.

   Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
