John William Shultis, 70, of Corapeake, NC, died Saturday, December 2, 2017.
Mr. Shultis was born January 19, 1947, and was the son of the late Arnold and Rose Shultis. The former owner of Micro Steel Rule Die Company, he served as chairman for 10 years of Paterson Parking Authority, was active for many years in the City of Paterson Nonpartisan politics serving as campaign chairman for Councilwoman Sylvia Ulmer, Mayor Martin G. Barnes, and Councilman William McKoy. His past 10 years were spent restoring the Savage Plantation House (circa 1854) in Gates County.
Surviving are his wife, Susan Walsh Shultis; a daughter, Tami Lyn Shultis Hough; two step-daughters, Jeanine Stark and Deidre Trama; a step-son, Christopher Baas; a sister, Marilyn Shultis; two brothers, Richard and Alan Shultis; two grandchildren, Nicolas and Caitlyn Hough; three step-grandchildren, Cheryl O’Brian, William Stark, and Nadine Pashinsky; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
