Brenda Perry Toppin

   Brenda Jeanette Perry Toppin, 72, of Wingfield Road, Tyner, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the home of her sister where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Toppin was born in Chowan County on November 27, 1945, and was the daughter of Cornelia Hare Perry of Tyner, and the late Claude R. Perry. A retired secretary, she worked with both Eastern Fuels and Bear Swamp Trucking. She was a member of Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church.

   In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Brad W. Toppin and wife Stacey of Pantego, and Randy D. Toppin of Jamesville; her sister, Sue P. Carr of Tyner; her brother, C. Ray Perry and wife Angie of Chuckatuck, VA; four grandchildren, Corey, Carlie, Luke, and Michael Toppin; three great-grandchildren, Kyra, Koen, and Bodie Toppin; two nieces, Shelley Perry, and Rana Weaver and husband Donnie; and a nephew, Brian D. Chappell.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the home of her sister, 110D Wingfield Road, Tyner.

Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, where it is to be used for snacks and lunches for patients taking cancer treatments.
