Helen Marie Privott

   Helen Marie Matthews Privott, 72, of 1887 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Ms. Privott was born in South Carolina on April 7, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Willard and Ethel Morris Matthews. A retired bookkeeper from Chowan River Health and Rehabilitation, she was a member of Piney Woods Friends Meeting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dollie Peede, and by two brothers, Dick and William Matthews.

   Surviving are her three sons, Johnny Peede and wife Angela of Edenton, David Peede and wife Andrea of South Mills, and Ross Cook and wife Michelle of Honesdale, PA; two sisters, Betty Styles of Virginia and Miriam Coker of Lumberton; a brother, Gene Matthews of Georgia; and seven grandchildren, Samantha, Kimberly, Jessica, Lauryn, Jake, Riley, and Emmalynn.

   A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Piney Woods Friends Meeting, and will be conducted by Pastor Jeremy Pugh. Friends may join the family at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piney Woods Friends Meeting, in care of Pastor Jeremy Pugh, 1540 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, NC 27919.
