Barbara Spencer Rinehart

   Barbara Jean Spencer Rinehart, 80, of 912 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, in Edenton Primetime.

   Mrs. Rinehart was born in Chowan County on March 16, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Worth Eugene and Esther Mae Hollowell Spencer. Retired from the Radiology Department of Chowan Hospital after 22 years of employment, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church and its Sunshine Bible Class.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Dale Rinehart Green.

   Surviving are her husband of nearly 60 years, Benny Dale Rinehart, Sr., and their children, Beth Evans and husband Jasper, Worth Rinehart and wife Paula, and Ben Rinehart and wife Sonya, all of Edenton; three sisters, Linda Adams and Irene Stotesbury, both of Edenton, and Cynthia Dandrea of Anaheim, AZ; seven grandchildren, Naythen, Sarah, Erin, Ellie, Bailey, Spencer, and Anna; five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Maci Kate, Parker, Blake, and Shelby, and another due to be born in January.

   Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Friends may join the family for a reception in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service, and a private burial in Beaver Hill Cemetery will follow that reception. All other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
