Dorothy Witt McGuire

   Dorothy Ruth Witt McGuire, 78, of Hertford, NC, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mrs. McGuire was born in Salt Lake City, UT on May 15, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Dean Russell Witt and Ruth Wilkins Johnson. A homemaker, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Edenton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Witt, and by two grandsons.

   Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Michael Joseph McGuire; three daughters, Bonnie Brown of Summerville, SC, Dawnalee Bellis and husband Bob of Rockford, IL, and Deana Moore and husband Bruce of Summerville; a son, Don Alvin Lott, Jr. and wife Debra of Thornton, CO; a step-daughter, Crystal Doggett and husband Randy of Aurora, CO; four sisters, Randylee Bringhurst and husband Dennis, Kathy Vernard and husband Tom, Melanie Nielsen, and Danell Sorenson and husband Randy; a sister-in-law, Debra Witt; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

   Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 27, at 11:00 a.m. in Summerville Cemetery, 700 Boonehill Road, Summerville, SC. Friends may join the family Tuesday, December 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st. North Street, Summerville, SC.
