Murray Edward Jethro

   Murray Edward Jethro, 84, of 210 Soundward Lane, Hertford, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in his home.

   Mr. Jethro was born in Chowan County on August 15, 1933, and was the son of the late Charlton B. and Edna Goodwin Jethro. He faithfully attended Island Christian Fellowship.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Toppin, and by a brother, Delvin Jethro.

   Surviving are two sisters, Ruby Copeland and Evelyn Dail, both of Hertford; two brothers, Melvin Jethro of Corapeake and Phillip Jethro of Edenton; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

   Funeral services will be held Monday, January 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by his pastor, The Rev. Ismael Melandez. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home following the chapel service.
