Eugene Paul King

   Eugene Paul King, 67, of 140 Osprey Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, in his home where he was surrounded by his family.

   Mr. King was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA on November 14, 1950, and was the son of the late Orion Morris and Margaret Mary Kacsuta King. He was a graduate of Waynesburg College with a Bachelor of Science degree in History Education. Mr. King was a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper where he attained the rank of Corporal, and served on the Special Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.). After that distinguished career, he worked in Iraq for two years as a private contractor.  His life’s hobbies were exercise and fitness, cooking, motorcycling, and traveling.

   Surviving are his wife of nearly 35 years, Clara Buchanan King; his daughter, Carrie Malkmus and husband Peter, and their children Dylan, Zackary, Cade, Luke, and Faith, of Harriman, TN, and his daughter, Andrea Buchanan of Waynesburg, PA; his sister, Marilyn King of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Thomas King and wife Carole of Louisville, KY and Timothy King of Waynesburg; and two nephews, Ryan King and wife Nikki, and their daughter Grace, of Buffalo, NY, and Thad King and wife Mallery, and their children, Noah, Dominic, and Leila, of Waynesburg.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Edenton United Methodist Church and will be officiated by The Rev. W. Christopher Aydlett. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.

   The burial service will be held Saturday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakmont Cemetery in Waynesburg.
