Robert Edward Brinson, Jr.

   Robert Edward “Brindy” Brinson, Jr., 65, of 190 River Moss Way, Hertford, NC, entered God’s arms, on Saturday, December 30, 2017, from his home where he was surrounded by his family.

 

   Mr. Brinson was born on February 13, 1952, in Portsmouth, VA, and was the son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Juanita Jones Brinson. A 1970 graduate of Cradock High School, he was a retired Network Administrator with Harris Connect. Raised in the fellowship of Highland Baptist Church, he had served there as a youth leader/teacher, Deacon, choir member, and worship leader.  He later joined Deep Creek Baptist Church and served there as a Deacon, Trustee, Adult Mission Team member, and greeter. He enjoyed performing and singing in the worship ministry productions, being a member of the “Lift Him Up” ensemble, and was a praise team member, which was his passion. After he moved from Chesapeake, VA, to his home in Hertford, he had more recently been attending Open Door Church.

 

   Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Deborah Sawyer Brinson; his son, William Max Brinson and wife Wendi of Palm Desert, CA; his daughter, Glenda Brinson Carpenter and husband Bobby of Hertford; and his grandchildren, Juliann, Alexander, Baron, and Preslyn Brinson. Also surviving are two sisters, Dale Seward and husband Bill of Alexandria, VA, and Pat Breen and husband Jerry of Nokesville, VA; two brothers, Keith Brinson and wife Charlene of Vicksburg, MS, and Greg Brinson and wife Elizabeth of Virginia Beach; a brother-in-law, Gary Sawyer and wife Denise of Fishersville, VA; nephews and nieces, Josh Breen and wife Julie, Beth Breen, Nikki Stublen, Kevin Brinson, Cason, Caleb, Cameron, and Cassidy Brinson, Laurie Berry and husband Ryan, and Tricia Hertless and husband Woody; great-nieces, Carly Stublen, Alexandra Breen, Lily and Zoe Berry, and Sadie Hertless; and many other loving family members, and the best and dearest neighbors.

 

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in London Bridge Baptist Church, 2460 Potters Road, Virginia Beach, and will be conducted by his brother, The Rev. Greg Brinson. Friends may visit with the family the hour prior to the service.

 

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Adult Mission Team of Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23323, or to Open Door Church, P.O. Box 1095, Edenton, NC 27932.
