Clyde Lee Riddick

   Clyde Lee Riddick, 74, of 440 Union Branch Road, Corapeake, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, in his home.

   Mr. Riddick was born in Suffolk, VA on December 16, 1943, and was the son of the late Lee and Susie Benton Riddick. Retired from the former HRFT Car Sales in Portsmouth, VA, he later worked with his wife in the operation of Riddick Painting & Wallpapering. A lifelong member of Parker’s United Methodist Church, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and also enjoyed his membership in the Corapeake Hunt Club.  Known by his CB handle of “Teddy Bear” to his many hunting buddies and friends, that name was derived from his favorite Elvis Presley classic.

   Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Brenda Lynn Feeser Riddick; his daughter, Susan Riddick of Eure; his grandchildren, Lee Jordan of Corapeake, Holly Dickerson of Raleigh, and Krystal Resendiz of Eure; his sister, Rebecca Bradshaw of Suffolk; and his brother, Jesse Benton Riddick of Corapeake.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Parker’s United Methodist Church and will be conducted by the pastor, Casey Estler. The burial will be private on the family plot in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the social hall of the church immediately following the funeral, or all other times at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Parker’s U.M.C., in care of Lena Benton, 1255 Middle Swamp Road, or to the Corapeake Hunt Club, 657 Daniels Road, both in Corapeake, NC 27926; or to the Gates County Meals On Wheels, in care of The Albemarle Commission, 512 S. Church Street, Hertford, NC 27944.
