Sara Saunders DeBlois

   Sara Saunders DeBlois, 91, of 201 Luke Street, Apt. 14, Edenton, NC, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mrs. DeBlois was born in Chowan County on March 28, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Percy Eugene Saunders, Sr. and Myrtle Boyce Saunders. Employed with Drs. Baker and Francis, she worked with Chowan Medical Center for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander E. DeBlois; and her brother, Percy E. “Gene” Saunders, Jr.

   Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Evans and husband Lynn of Wahpeton, ND, and Anna Del Tito and husband Ben of Lansdale, PA; a son, Michael DeBlois of Edenton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Deacon Frank Jones. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service and other times at the residence.
